An Orillia man accused of dangerous driving causing death in a February 2025 crash that killed a Midland couple is expected to plead guilty. Spencer Fulton, 32, is scheduled to appear in the Superior Court of Justice on Friday in Barrie where he is expected to enter a guilty plea, while charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of Larry and Linda King. Fulton, who has been behind bars since the deadly head-on crash in Elmvale, that involved a total of three vehicles, waived his preliminary hearing in March to resolve his charges. He is represented by defence lawyer Jeffrey Fisher. Provincial police said Fulton was behind the wheel of a vehicle that crashed head-on into oncoming traffic just before noon on Feb. 8, 2025, along County Road 27 between Baseline Road and Flos Road 11 East. The Midland couple, Larry, 80, and Linda, 77, were great-grandparents and had deep roots in Southern Georgian Bay. Investigators said two others involved in the crash were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and another person was sent to a trauma centre in Toronto. Court records obtained by CTV News have revealed Fulton has about a dozen charges, including being accused of driving while prohibited. Any evidence heard in court is protected by a publication ban. The allegations against Spencer Fulton have not been tested in court.
