Country superstar Tim Hicks is ready to bring down the house Saturday night as one of Ontario’s fastest-growing festivals comes to a close. Summer is not over yet. There’s still one final celebration to be had in downtown Barrie and that is the final edition of the Troubadour Summer Concert Series. Not only will Hicks headline the night, but programming will be happening all day long, offering something for everybody. Here’s the break down of the day: Festival vendors are open as of 10 a.m. along Dunlop Street, which is closed to traffic for the day. A special Story Time for kids is underway presented downtown Barrie business Hey Bootsy. Live music will take form throughout the afternoon giving festival goers the opportunity to experience a variety of musical styles. The Troubadour Street Stage located on Dunlop Street at the top of Meridian Square is presenting Errol Lee Caring Concerts, an interactive show for families from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Up-and-coming artists Dess Jour, Delyn Grey and Harley Olivia will perform between 12:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. Getting down to Troubadour has never been easier as the City of Barrie is providing free Barrie Transit shuttle service from 4 p.m. until midnight. Starting at 5 p.m. on the Troubadour Main Stage—Meridian Place—is the Local Opener Showcase featuring Evan Denley, Candace & Michael and Barstool Confession. Country artist Mitch Zorn will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. opening up for the night’s headliner, Tim Hicks at 8:30 p.m. The festival series has been taking place on various Saturdays throughout the summer in downtown Barrie bringing attendees top-tier artists mixed with up-and-coming and local musicians. Headliners have included The Road Hammers, The Watchmen and Bahamas, filling the summer air with sweet sounds of live music spanning genres and decades.
