A fast-moving grass fire on Innisfil Beach Road spread across several acres of farmland Tuesday, as strong winds pushed flames through a hay field and ignited multiple hay bales. Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services was called to the farm for reports of a grass fire. When crews arrived, they found equipment on fire, with the flames already spreading into the field. Strong winds quickly made the situation worse, said the team. Firefighters worked to contain the blaze from spreading further, with local farmers and equipment operators also stepping in to help. Their combined efforts brought the fire under control before it could spread farther across the rural land. Innisfil Fire thanked the farmers and equipment operators who jumped in during the response, saying the incident was an example of the community coming together when it mattered. “It takes a village and yesterday, our Innisfil village showed up,” said the team over social media. “Together, we did it.” Luckily, no injuries were reported.
