Even though summer is very much still here, one local ski resort is already thinking about snow. In fact, its new snow-making machines have arrived. Mount St. Louis Moonstone in Coldwater is beginning to make upgrades ahead of the 2026/27 season and one of those is its snow-making capabilities. The resort has recently unboxed 60 manual snow guns, a more than $1.6 million investment. These snow guns, according to the resort, are TT10s and TK8s, state-of-the-art automation. The new snow-making machines are automated fan guns from TechnoAlpin, a company that’s been designing and building snowmaking systems for ski areas around the world since 1990. As part of the resort’s planned upgrades ahead of the ski season, guests can expect a new snow groomer, new carpet lift and LED lighting for one of the hills. It will also get a new beer hall and an automated tuning machine for its rental equipment.
