The Emergency Room at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie says it’s experiencing higher patient volumes on Tuesday. The hospital is alerting the public that wait times may by longer than usual, as staff are prioritizing the most urgent and life-threatening cases. The team at RVH is reminding patients, whose conditions are not emergencies, that they may find faster care through other avenues. Staff remind the public they can book an arrival time for RVH’s Minor Ailment Patient Pathway for minor illnesses and injuries like cold and flu, minor limb injuries, urinary tract infections and skin infections. Other options include going to a walk-in clinic, your primary care provider, the Regional Virtual Urgent Care Clinic or your local pharmacist. “Choosing the right care option helps us care for those who need us most,” RVH says in a social media post.
