OPP remind motorist to buckle up this Easter long weekend

OPP are reminding the public to buckle up and wear their seatbelts if they plan to be on the roads this Easter long weekend.

According to the OPP, 41 lives were lost in 2025 where seatbelt use was a factor.

The OPP also say that for every four road fatalities investigated by the OPP, one still involves someone not wearing a seatbelt.

Officers are encouraging everyone to buckle up and reminding parents to ensure their children are properly secured in their car seats before operating a vehicle and wearing a seatbelt is the most effective way to protect yourself in a crash.
