Two people aboard a boat on Georgian Bay traded places as officers approached, provincial police say. On Tuesday, OPP was called around 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a possible impaired boat operator in Parry Sound. As officers tried to stop the vessel, they allege the person behind the wheel switched places with the passenger. Both were arrested and taken to the West Parry Sound OPP detachment for further testing. A 63-year-old from Essex and a 46-year-old from Parry Sound were each charged with impaired operation, having a blood alcohol concentration of 80-plus and operating a boat with an open container of liquor. The 46-year-old was also charged with having cannabis readily available in the boat. Both are scheduled to appear in a Parry Sound court at a later date.
