Two Ontarians on cruise ship hit with Hantavirus from our region isolating at home

The two Ontario residents who were aboard a cruise ship that was hit with the deadly Hantavirus are from our region.

The residents are from the same household in Grey-Bruce County and are currently isolating at home.

Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario’s top doctor, told CTV News the pair were back in the province on April 25. He says they are asymptomatic but are being observed for a 45-day period.

Health Minister Sylvia Joes said they are not believed to be at risk of transmitting the virus.
