It’s fall ball weather in Calgary which is fitting after last night’s big Blue Jays win! You might even be able to watch a bit of the World Series out on the patio this Friday, but keep some layers on standby, sunset will be before 6:30 p.m. after all! For Tuesday, expect a calm start to the day with winds picking up in the afternoon out of the west at 20 to 40 km/h. This will get us to a high of 14 C. Leading up to the weekend we have a static temperature and condition trend consisting of sun and cloud and highs in the mid-teens getting to our peak high of 16 C by Friday. The pleasant conditions are brought to you by an incoming upper ridge of high pressure; however, the city could see a brief sprinkle of rain on Thursday morning due to a shortwave trough in our upper air pattern. The divot you see in the photo above is the trough I’m talking about. You likely have also noticed in the upper air pattern a lot of cold air blanketing the Pacific Ocean along the West Coast. That cold air mass will start to track inland on Saturday and will drive temperatures down to below seasonal by Sunday, continuing into early next week as well.
