After a volatile month of weather in Calgary, we get to say farewell to April on a warm and sunny note. A ridge of high pressure is moving in from the west which will bring mainly sunny conditions and temperatures in the low 20s for Calgary on Thursday and Friday. The only real blip in the five-day forecast will be on Saturday, where the jet stream because just wavy enough to allow for cooler air to move into southern Alberta that will likely form clouds capable of producing some scattered showers during the morning hours. Temperatures will also be brought back into a more seasonal range. But we bounce right back on Sunday as the ridge re-establishes which keeps conditions stable and warm for the rest of the weekend. That will continue to be the weather story for early May, as the 10-day forecast shows sustained stretches of seasonal or above seasonal temperatures with minor dips here and there. For those itching to get some yard work done or get the barbeque fired-up, spring has finally arrived.
