Okotoks fought back after a rough start Saturday night, but ran out of resistance late as they dropped a 14-7 game to the Brooks Bombers. Brooks got off to a hot start, grabbing an 8-3 lead after four innings. Okotoks clawed back with four runs in the top of the sixth to move to within one run of Brooks, but the Bombers scored five more in the sixth through eighth inning to earn the victory. Jordan Kievman had a big night for the Dawgs at the plate, getting three hits in five at-bats, including a home run. Lauchlan Maude had a pair of hits and drove in a run, and Turner Zdurich chipped in with a two-run home run. Eric Ballinella led Brooks, scoring three runs, driving in three including a home run. He also stole a base and had a walk. Amir Pineiro meanwhile scored a run, hit a homer, drew a walk and drove in five. He was named player of the game. Grady Keljo threw two innings for the Dawgs, striking out three. Jack Bello went two, striking out four and allowing two earned runs. Dalton Hoffart went one inning, striking out the side while allowing one run. The loss dropped the Dawgs 2026 record to 33-12, good for first place. Next up: a Sunday afternoon rematch in Brooks. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. The Dawgs return to Okotoks Wednesday night, when they take on the Lethbridge Bulls at 7:05 p.m.
