Condolences are pouring in after a beloved London, Ont. business owner was killed in a crash on Highway 401 on July 24, 2026. Naief Fadel – owner of Perfect Green – has been identified as the person who did not survive a crash involving transport trucks between Highbury Avenue and Veterans Memorial Parkway. An obituary posted by the London Muslim Mosque (LMM) says “it is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Brother Naief Fadel.” The family held prayer Friday with Fadel’s burial taking place at the Islamic Cemetery of London Saturday. Fadel, 50, was a fruits and vegetables supplier for many farmers’ markets and businesses in the region for more than two decades. “My father loved connecting with people and his favourite way to do so was through his love of vegetables and fruits,” his son, Bilal Fadel, wrote online. Bilal has taken the reigns of the business temporarily until the family decides how to move forward. Condolences from his clients, customers, and business colleagues started pouring in on social media. “For the past 20 years, we have had the privilege of working with Neif, owner of Perfect Green,” wrote Thomas Bros. Market. “He supplied us with the freshest fruits and vegetables and was known for his incredible work ethic, kindness, and dedication. Over the years, our business relationship grew into a true friendship. Neif was much more than a supplier —he became part of our market family. His presence, warm smile, and unwavering commitment will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him. The market will never be the same without you. Rest in peace, Neif. You will always be remembered.” Millar Berry Farms were shocked to learn of his passing. They were expecting a delivery of Niagara Peaches from Fadel and were confused as to why they never arrived. “We are totally devasted to hear this news!!! He took care of us,” they wrote on Facebook. Middlesex OPP says the incident happened around 5:40 p.m. Thursday in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 between Highbury Avenue and Veterans Memorial Parkway. Fadel’s family tells CTV News he was returning from a full day of delivering produce in the Toronto area when he was coming back to London. After the collision, he was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were not injured. “For over a decade we have had the pleasure of working with Naief to source fruits and vegetables for our store shelves,” wrote Ungar’s Market. “Naief shared our passion for quality food and always ensured the best produce made it to us and countless other businesses in the area. As time passed, we developed a relationship with Naief that evolved into something truly special, a friendship built on trust with one of the hardest working people in the business. Naief was a reliable, kind, and steadfast presence that all of us will remember fondly in the years to come. Thank you, Naief, for everything you’ve done for us over the years. You will be terribly missed. And to our friends at Perfect Green, and Naief’s family, our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.” Condolences were held Saturday at LMM and again Sunday evening in the lower hall from 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. “Words alone cannot express the depth of this loss or the void that will be left in the lives of those who knew him,” wrote Tuscano’s Pizzeria and Bistro “For over 20 years Naief provided us with exceptional service and produce and became someone we had the privilege of calling a friend. He will be sincerely missed by all of us in the Tuscanos family. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to Naief’s family and friends at this time.”
