A warm start to Wednesday for southern Alberta as we get another morning and afternoon abundant in sunshine which will warm Calgary up to a high of 4 C. But our warming trend ends abruptly later tonight when our next wet weather system moves in from the west. Already yellow-level snowfall warnings have been issued along the AB/BC border as those higher elevation areas could see 15 to 25 centimetres fall overnight creating hazardous highway conditions. The snow is looking to start falling in Calgary at around 8 p.m. with between two to four centimetres expected by Thursday morning. The snow will be coming in a series of pulses, with the second round looking to arrive on Friday afternoon, though expect intermittent flurries for the next three days. Models have the final wave of snow from this event approaching on Saturday morning which will also be our coolest day of the week with a high of -8 C. By Sunday, a ridge of high pressure starts to push in from the west replacing the snow with more sunshine and warmer winds.
