Winds disrupt advance voting in central Alberta High winds disrupted advance voting Saturday in Two Hills, which was closed at 2:20 p.m. Voters were redirected to Vegreville. A number of other locations throughout central Alberta extended voting hours Saturday to accommodate for temporary closures, including voting locations in Smoky Lake, Camrose, Leduc, Sherwood Park, Strathcona, Fort Saskatchewan, Wetaskiwin and Drayton Valley. Voting in Wainwright was also interrupted around 6 p.m. due to fire near the Canadian Forces Base, which spread due to high winds and crossed into the M.D. of Wainwright. Ballot boxes and materials from Wainwright were moved securely. How to confirm assigned voting location Polls open at 9 a.m. Monday and close at 8 p.m. Elections Alberta advises people to come early in the day if they have any flexibility.
