A unique theatrical dining experience will soon open in Calgary. The Magic Table, coming to The Dorian hotel, takes patrons on an immersive culinary journey featuring illusions and cutting-edge 3D projection technology. The show uses 3D video-projected visuals to show guests a magical story on their dining table during their five-course meal. Officials say each course represents a chapter in the story, and each is paired with synchronized 3D visuals and effects. “We are inviting our guests into something far beyond a traditional dining experience,” said Ian Jones, The Dorian’s complex general manager. “It is an opportunity to engage the senses, spark curiosity and create a genuine sense of wonder.” The show is digitally hosted by – and a collaboration with – The Clairvoyants, Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass, best known for their success on America’s Got Talent. Officials say The Clairvoyants guide guests through the journey with their signature blend of storytelling and psychological illusion. The sensory journey takes two-and-a-half hours, and The Dorian Hotel will be the first spot in Calgary to host the show. It follows the run of Le Petite Chef at The Dorian Hotel, another theatrical dining experience, which launched in 2024. The Magic Table starts on May 22.
