The Highway 63 bridge over the Athabasca River north of Fort McMurray was made impassable by a crash early Thursday morning. Three vehicles were involved and “at least two people” were taken to fort McMurray’s hospital, according to an RCMP spokesperson. They did not know the extent of the victims’ injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The bridge, officially called the Peter Lougheed Bridge but known by locals as the Bridge to Nowhere, is 50 kilometres north of Fort Mcmurray and was closed from about 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
