Following a 20-degree day Sunday in Edmonton, afternoon highs will slip back to the mid teens Mon/Tue. A cold front sweeping in from the north is generating some gusts and pushing clouds and a few showers through the Edmonton region Monday morning. Those clouds should break a bit and allow some sunny breaks Monday afternoon. But, it’ll be a cool day with gusts around 40 km/h and a high around 16 degrees. Temperatures drop close to the freezing mark Tuesday morning and Frost Advisories are expected across northern and north-central Alberta as skies clear and the wind eases Monday night. After a chilly start, we’ll get to around 17 degrees in Edmonton Tuesday afternoon under Partly Cloudy skies. Tuesday evening brings a chance of scattered showers (possibly a thunderstorm) from NE Alberta down through the Edmonton and Red Deer regions. We’ll get one more morning with a frost risk Wednesday, but warmer air will start to move in Wednesday afternoon and temperatures should get back to 20 Wednesday afternoon. A lengthy warm spell takes hold for the back half of this week and early next week. Most days should be sunny, daytime highs will be in the low to mid 20s and morning lows will be around 9 degrees.
