Edmonton’s on track for its wettest June on record

After weeks of rain, people in Edmonton and surrounding communities are being asked to limit their non-essential water usage.

The last time Edmonton had more rain in the month of June was more 100 years ago.

The city’s official weather station at Blatchford has recorded 192 mm up to 7 a.m. on Monday.

June 1914 is the record-holder with 216.5 mm of rain.

By the time June 2026 is over, we’ll probably break that record because there’s a good chance we’ll see another soaker over the coming June 27-28 weekend.

At the Edmonton International Airport, the records don’t go back as far and this is already the wettest June on record, with 168 mm of rain so far this month.
