A 50-year-old Kitchener man has been charged following a child sexual abuse material investigation by Waterloo Regional Police. Police said the investigation began in December 2025 after the service’s Cybercrime-Internet Child Exploitation Unit received information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre. As part of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Kitchener on June 11. A 50-year-old Kitchener man was arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material and making child sexual abuse and exploitation material available. Waterloo Regional Police said the investigation was conducted through its Cybercrime-Internet Child Exploitation Unit, which is part of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.
