The London Police Service (LPS) is investigating after a downtown collision between a motorized scooter and a vehicle. Saturday morning around 7 a.m., LPS, London Fire and EMS were called to Richmond Street and Queen’s Avenue for reports of a collision between an elderly female on a motorized scooter and a person driving a red sedan. The senior was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries. LPS continues to hold the scene while they await word from hospital with an update on the extent of the injuries. If the serious injuries become life threatening or fatal, the LPS Traffic Management Unit will take over the investigation. Queen’s Avenue is closed just west of Richmond Street. with an LPS cruiser blocking the street and caution tape surrounding the scene. A motorized scooter is tipped on its side and a red ball cap right beside the scooter. A red sedan involved in the crash is parked just a few metres away.
