The London Knights remain perfect to start the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season after a 4-1 win over the North Bay Battalion at Canada Life Place Friday. Making his first start of the season after returning from Vancouver Canucks camp, Aleksei Medvedev stopped 38 of the 39 shots fired his way to earn first star honours. Rookie Marcus Nordmark opened the scoring with his first OHL goal early in the second period before the Battalion answered back to tie it at one going to the third period. Less than a minute into the final frame, Thomas Zocco took advantage of a defensive mistake and buried what would turn out to be the game winner. Jaxon Cover scored in his first game back from Ottawa Senators camp by taking a rebound off the end boards and slipping it home. Cohen Bidgood would add an an insurance marker to round out the scoring. London sits 4-0 to start the year to lead the Western Conference standings and will look to remain undefeated Sunday when they host the Flint Firebirds. London will be without defenceman Maksim Sokolovskii Sunday and for the near future. He being described as “week-to-week with a lower-body injury” by the team after suffering an injury in practice.
