SafeSpace London has announced they are officially dissolving their organization. Officials say the decision stems from not being able to ‘recover financially’ from the impact of scaling their operations up, then back down, and haven’t been able to find stable funding. The announcement was made over social media Friday afternoon. The organization began in 2009 and describes itself as serving sex workers, their accomplices (allies), women, and gender non-conforming people. SafeSpace laid off its workforce in March 2025 and returned to a volunteer-run program due to funding shortfalls. “While this is a sad ending for SafeSpace, the urgent need remains for harm reduction, sex worker advocacy, frontline services informed by sex workers, peer support, and law reform,” a statement by SafeSpace reads. “SafeSpace has always been powered by community, and community is how work can continue.” SafeSpace has provided a list of contacts for anyone in need:
