London police are warning members of the public about a London, Ont. man who was recently released from custody. Based on information obtained during the investigation, the London Police Service has identified concerns for public safety. They say on July 28, officers investigated reports of threats to sexually assault and kill a teenage girl. They then charged 19-year-old Connor Bennett with threatening to cause death or bodily harm, as well as possessing child sexual abuse materials. After a contested bail hearing Tuesday, London police say Bennett was released with conditions, including he reside in Thorold, Ont. He is also prohibited from possessing any electronic devices or anything capable of accessing Wi-Fi, communicating with anyone under the age of 18 unless continuously accompanied by his surety, and possessing any weapons. They also say they’re notifying the community because of concerns for public safety and ask anyone who believes Bennet is breaching his release conditions to call 911.
