A 24-year-old driver from Mississauga faces multiple charges after provincial police stopped a vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit on Highway 69 south of Sudbury. Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped the vehicle after it was clocked at 175 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone on Aug. 9. The driver was charged with speeding and stunt driving. In addition to the charges, the motorist received a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded by the OPP for 14 days. Police remind motorists of speed limits OPP used the incident to remind motorists of the dangers of speeding. “Posted speed limits are there for a reason,” OPP said in a social media post on Tuesday. “Excessive speed reduces your reaction time, increases stopping distance and can have devastating consequences.” “Slow down.
