The gloves came off during a spirited mayoral debate hosted by CTV News London on the key issues facing the city ahead of the municipal election. Incumbent Mayor Josh Morgan and challengers Susan Stevenson and Kirsten Krose squared off on a range of topics, including homelessness, property taxes, traffic congestion, public transit, downtown revitalization, climate change and public safety for women and girls. Several exchanges grew tense as the candidates challenged each other’s positions during rebuttal periods. The one-hour special aired commercial-free and unedited on CTV London on Monday, Oct. 12, in place of the 6 p.m. newscast.
