Montreal to switch back to snow this weekend

Snow returns to Montreal this weekend, with up to 10 cm possible by Sunday before temperatures rise and heavy rain moves in early next week.

Montrealers will see a return to snow this weekend.

A system is expected to move through southern Quebec beginning Friday night.

Up to 6 centimetres could fall over the greater Montreal area, as the mercury moves to a low of -1 C.

By Saturday afternoon, temperatures could then reach a high of 2 C.

Precipitation is expected to continue on and off throughout Saturday, as the same system brings up to 4 centimetres more.

Those in the region should prepare for a below-seasonal evening, as a low of -9 C could come on Saturday night.

One additional centimetre of snow is expected on Sunday, as temperatures range from -2 C to -1 C.

Heavy rain is then forecast to start next week.
