A collision involving a school bus left a driver in critical condition in the Saint-Léonard borough on Thursday morning. No children were on board, but the bus driver was injured. According to Montreal police (SPVM), around 6:30 a.m., someone called 911, reporting the collision at the intersection of Lacordaire and des Grandes-Prairies Boulevards. According to initial reports, a vehicle travelling southbound on Lacordaire Boulevard collided with the school bus before crashing into a bus shelter. The bus then hit a wall. The person driving the vehicle was transported to hospital in critical condition. The school bus driver was also sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police established a security perimeter. Lacordaire Boulevard northbound is currently closed to traffic. Drivers should avoid the area, said police. The investigation is ongoing.
