The ban on open-air burning will officially be lifted in Timmins beginning just after midnight July 25. The ban has been in place since July 17 due to hot and dry conditions and the presence of forest fires. “With the current forecast, open-air burning can resume,” fire officials said in a news release Friday. “However, a fire ban may be reinstated at any time if conditions change. The Timmins Fire Department urges caution and reminds residents to never leave a fire unattended. Fire hazard status will continue to be closely monitored.”
