Police in Timmins are investigating a motor vehicle crash between a pickup truck and a scooter that occurred Wednesday evening at a city intersection. The Timmins Police Service said officers responded to the scene at about 5:33 p.m. on July 8 at the intersection of Algonquin Boulevard West and Rea Street North. In an email to CTV News on Thursday afternoon, Timmins police spokesperson Michelle St. Louis said the investigation into the collision remains ongoing. “The individual involved sustained injuries that are considered non-life-threatening and non-life-altering,” said St. Louis, adding that investigators are continuing to determine the charges. Westbound lanes reopened Police had closed the westbound lanes of Algonquin Boulevard to traffic as they investigated the incident. “Motorists are asked to avoid the intersection and use alternative routes,” police said in a news release shortly before 6:15 p.m. Const. Roland Giroux confirmed in an email to CTV News that the lanes reopened just before 8:45 p.m. “The Timmins Police Service would like to thank the public for their cooperation and patience while officers investigated the collision,” police said in an updated release.
