Some Sault residents told to shelter in place

There is a large police presence Tuesday morning in Sault Ste. Marie in the area of Fauquier Avenue between Ferris Avenue, Trelawne Avenue, and MacDonald Avenue.

“The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is urging community members to avoid the area,” police said in a news release.

“This is believed to be an isolated incident, however, some residents in the area have been told to shelter in place while officers investigate.”

Residents are also being advised to take alternate routes if they are travelling in the area until the incident is resolved.
