One person died and another was airlifted to the hospital following a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in Osgoode Friday evening, Ottawa emergency services say. According to a statement from Ottawa Fire Services, emergency crews responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle that had flipped onto its roof at the intersection of Cabin Road and Blanchfield Road around 5:43 p.m. Firefighters say they extricated a person who was trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Ottawa paramedics say the driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s, was declared dead, while a woman in her 60s was flown to the Ottawa Hospital trauma centre by an ORNG air ambulance. Ottawa police say road closures are in effect in the area and the public should avoid the area while police operations are underway.
