The Carleton Ravens and the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees are set to meet for the Panda Game at TD Place on Sunday. In last year’s annual rivalry game, the Ravens beat the Gee-Gees 20-14 at TD Place, snapping uOttawa’s six game winning streak. This will be the fourth straight year the Panda Game will be played on a Sunday following post-game incidents in 2021 and 2022. In 2021, thousands of students gathered on the streets in Sandy Hill, with a group of people flipping a car onto its roof. In 2022, seven people were arrested and dozens of tickets were issued after a street party in Sandy Hill following the football game. Ottawa police say residents should expect an increased police presence on Sunday to “keep celebrations safe, lawful and respectful.” “As per TD Place’s Panda policies, there are no bags or umbrellas allowed, no re-entry, zero tolerance for intoxication or harmful behaviour and one drink per purchase per person,” TD Place said. The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees hold a record of 3 wins and 2 losses, while the Carleton Ravens have 0 wins and 4 losses. With files from CTV’s Josh Pringle.
