A man in his 50s was injured after a violent altercation in Ottawa’s downtown core on Saturday. Ottawa paramedics were called to Wellington Street near the Fairmont Chateau Laurier at about 4:20 p.m. Paramedics spokesperson Chris Bourne says the man had injuries to his hand from an edged weapon following the altercation. He was treated for injuries at the scene but refused transport to hospital. A large police presence was seen in the area as Ottawa police officers investigated the incident. It’s unclear if any arrests have been made.
