After a rainy long weekend, which included a weather alert for heavy rain, sunshine is on the horizon for Ottawa. Environment Canada says as of 8 a.m. on Monday, the capital had received approximately 49.4 millimetres of rain throughout the long weekend, most of it landing on Sunday. While the yellow-level warning for heavy rain has been lifted, Environment Canada’s weather forecast indicates showers will continue into the afternoon. The rain is expected to clear around 4 p.m., giving way to clear and sunny skies. The temperature will reach a high of 23 C on Monday, and an overnight low of 14 C. On Tuesday, expect a sunny day with a temperature high of 28 C. Wednesday will be a similarly sunny day with a high of 29 C. On Thursday, expect a chance of showers and a high of 28 C.
