Two men seriously injured in Merivale Rd. crash

Two men were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Nepean on Sunday afternoon, according to Ottawa paramedics.

Paramedics spokesperson Kevin Montgomery tells CTV News that first responders were called to the intersection of Merivale Road and Meadowlands Drive at approximately 1:10 p.m.

Three men in their 20s were assessed at the scene. Two of them were transported to hospital in serious but stable condition, he said.

Ottawa police were asking drivers to avoid the area as traffic disruptions grew in the area. Buses were also being rerouted, according to OC Transpo.

The intersection has since been cleared.
