The Regina Pats have unveiled a series of initiatives for the upcoming WHL season, promising to focus on affordability, family access, and fun. Gord Pritchard, the CEO of the Regina Pats, Shaun Semple, the owner of Brandt and Matt Semple, the senior vice president of marketing, attended the announcement, held at Mosaic Stadium Thursday morning. The announcement included a 15 per cent reduction in single game ticket prices, the introduction of Family Zone tickets starting at $12.50 and weekday ticket pricing starting at $12.25. There will also be new season ticket member benefits, including a $170 food and drink credit delivered as a $5 credit for every regular season home game, with pre-season games now included with no increase to the base price of tickets. According to the Pats’ update, the Family Zone tickets represent a 58 per cent reduction from last season’s single-game pricing, while the weekday tickets represent a 50 per cent reduction. The season ticket members will see up to 30 per cent additional value. Those interested in purchasing a season ticket for the first time can do so beginning on Aug. 17. Those looking to renew their season tickets can do so beginning on Aug. 4. All ticket packages will be on sale on Aug. 24. Brandt is in the process of taking possession of several properties on the REAL District in addition to the organization’s employees. While it has owned the Regina Pats for years, the 2026-27 season marks the first year Brandt Sports and Entertainment will also manage and operate the Brandt Centre, as REAL’s deal is set to close on Sept. 1. Owner Shaun Semple said his intentions are to create a better experience for visitors and make Pats hockey more accessible. “By bringing the team and the Brandt Centre together under one vision, we’re able to focus on every part of the fan experience and make decisions with the long-term future in mind,” he said in Thursday’s update. Brandt will also be investing in facility upgrades to enhance the experience for fans, including upgraded mechanical systems, enhanced security measures, updated food and beverage offerings, upper bowl power ring LEDs, LED rink boards, upgraded arena sound system, enhanced lighting, and bowl seating improvements. The first phase of this long-term vision is set to begin at the end of the 2026-27 season. Since being greenlit by city council in May, Brandt’s $6.5 million purchase of seven buildings on the REAL campus has seen the kickstart of several construction and renovation efforts. For the upcoming Canadian Western Agribition (CWA), Brandt plans to construct a movable 115,000 square foot building to house livestock to replace the space being lost as the Avana Centre is renovated to become the home of Brandt Sports and Entertainment. As part of its deal with the city, Brandt is assuming the existing leases, sponsorship, food and beverage and service agreements related to the purchased buildings, as well as all event bookings or contracts. The purchase includes the Ag-Ex Building, Canada Centre Building, Commercial Cattle Barn, Queensbury Convention Centre, Stockman’s Building, the Brandt Centre, the Agribition Building, the land lease for the McDonald’s located at 1810 Exhibition Parkway and the parking lot west of Mosaic Stadium.
