The search is on for an inmate who did not return to the Saskatchewan Penitentiary over the long weekend after being granted a temporary absence. On Sept. 7, 53-year-old inmate Scott Sargefield didn’t return to facility’s minimum-security unit following an authorized temporary absence. In a news release, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) says it immediately contacted the Prince Albert RCMP, and a warrant for Sargefield was issued. Sargefield stands 5′4″ tall and weighs 115 pounds, with a fair complexion, blue eyes and grey hair. He’s serving a sentence of a little over two years for theft over $5,000 and uttering threats of death/harm. Anyone with information on Sargefield’s whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP. “CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible,” the agency said in its news release.
