Saskatchewan RCMP continue to search for suspects following the death of a teenager in northern Saskatchewan over the weekend. In a media release Monday, RCMP say an altercation took place between the victim and multiple people at a home in Sandy Bay early Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Silvino Grenier of Sandy Bay. His family has been notified, and victim services have been offered. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit is working to identify the suspects. They’ve identified a black SUV believed to be involved. RCMP say the vehicle may have a dent near the driver’s side rear wheel. “The van/SUV should not be approached. The occupant(s) may be armed and are considered dangerous,” RCMP said. Residents in Sandy Bay are being asked to check home security cameras and doorbell cameras for video recorded between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Aug. 16. Any suspicious activity or footage should be reported to police. The community will experience an increased police presence for an undetermined period of time. Mounties say updates will be provided when available. Anyone with information on the vehicle or death of Grenier is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers. Sandy Bay is located about 455 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert. With files from Hayatullah Amanat
