Have you seen this man?: Saskatoon police search for child luring suspect

The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with two alleged luring incidents at stores in the city.

Police say the incidents were reported at two separate east side businesses and involved a six-year-old girl and a four-year-old girl.

The first incident was reported on March 7 just before 10 a.m. in the car seat section of a large department store on the 1700 block of Preston Avenue North.

Police say a man approached a six-year-old girl and motioned for her to step away from her family and approach him.

The second incident was reported on April 9 at about 12:45 p.m. in the children’s section of a retail store on the 3100 block of 8th Street East. According to police, the same man motioned for a four-year-old girl to approach him.

Police say they reviewed surveillance video from both stores and believe the same man was involved in both incidents.

The man is described as being in his 50’s, Caucasian in appearance and clean shaven. Police say he was wearing a black Under Armour ball cap during both incidents.

At the Preston Avenue location, he wore a black jacket with grey shoulders, blue jeans and black runners. At the 8th Street site, he wore a black jacket, tan pants and black runners.

Police are asking anyone who can help identify the man to contact SPS or Saskatoon Crime Stoppers.
