A SaskTel outage is affecting internet, television, home phone and cellular services in several Saskatchewan communities Thursday. SaskTel reported the outage around 10:30 a.m., initially saying services were affected in Saskatoon and surrounding areas. By 10:57 a.m., the outage had expanded to include Prince Albert, North Battleford and surrounding areas. SaskTel said shortly after 11 a.m. that Melfort and La Loche were also affected. The Crown corporation says crews are working to restore services as quickly as possible. SaskTel says the outage is the result of a fibre cut. At 11:41 a.m., SaskTel added Allan, Clavet, Colonsay, Drake, Lanigan, Young, Aberdeen and Moon Lake to the list of communities affected by the outage. “In the event of an emergency, residents in and around the community will need to physically contact their nearest emergency services for assistance,” SaskTel said.
