Toronto police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual who allegedly asked a child he didn’t know if they wanted a ride home. Ina new release on Thursday, police said officers responded to a suspicious incident in the area of Church and Grattan streets on Tuesday. Police said that a child was walking home from school just after 3 p.m. when an unknown male driving an older model blue Volkswagen sedan stopped and exited the vehicle. Police said the male asked the child if they wanted a ride home and the child declined, and the male got back into the vehicle and drove away. The vehicle is described by police as a blue, older model (possibly 2007-2008) Volkswagen Passat with no front plate. Police described the male as brown, approximately five foot nine, 150 lbs, with a slim build, short black hair and clean shaven. Images of the male and vehicle have been released.
