A Toronto man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after two people were assaulted near Rosedale subway station early Monday morning. Toronto police say officers responded to reports of a person with a knife at Rosedale Station at about 2:45 a.m. Investigators allege the man stole a fire extinguisher from inside the station before leaving and approaching two people nearby. Police said the victims attempted to flee, but one fell to the ground and was assaulted. The second victim tried to intervene and was also assaulted. Both victims were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived. On Friday, police arrested Logan Cachene, 21, of Toronto in the area of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue East. Cachene has been charged with attempted murder, assault, theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order. The charges have not been tested in court.
