One person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and a 65-year-old man is in police custody after a stabbing in Bowmanville on Monday. Durham Regional Police were called at around 5:30 a.m. to the area of Queen and Temperance streets, after the victim flagged down a driver passing by. Police say the vicitm was near Rotary Park when he was stabbed several times. The victim was rushed to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries but police say his condition has since stabilized. Footage from the scene shows police tape blocking the entrance to a home on a nearby street with blood visible on its front door. Officers found the suspect near Liberty Street South and Prince Street a short time later. It is unclear at this time if the suspect and victim were known to each other. In a news release, Durham police say they charged Theadore Joseph Hall, of Clarington, Ont., with various offences, including aggravated assault and theft. Police say that they currently have a large presence in Rotary Park. Police say that the investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing.
