A Toronto music teacher has been charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old in York Region in 2022 and investigators believe there may be additional victims. In a news release, York regional police say the investigation began on July 6 after the complainant came forward and reported she had been in a “sexual relationship” with the suspect that began in 2022, when she was 15 years old. Police allege the suspect met the victim through a music studio where he was teaching in Markham. Investigators believe he may also teach music elsewhere in the Greater Toronto Area. On July 23, police arrested and charged 33-year-old Wylie Zi Hin Lam of Toronto with sexual interference, sexual exploitation and sexual assault. Investigators say they have released the accused’s photograph because they believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
