Mounties in North Vancouver, B.C., shared a video of a driver who was caught using a tablet, along with a warning about distracted driving. The detachment said the incident happened Monday. The video shows the driver of a F150 holding the tablet while stopped at an intersection. “We’re used to seeing a cell phone in someone’s hand, but this driver decided to level up, holding a tablet with both hands while behind the wheel,” the North Vancouver RCMP posted on social media Wednesday. “Your text, email, or next scroll can wait until you reach your destination. Keep both hands where they belong and your eyes on the road.” The driver was fined $368 and received four demerit points. According to ICBC, 40 per cent of distracted driving crashes happen at intersections. On average, distracted driving is a factor in 80 fatal crashes and 2,424 crashes causing injuries each year.
