Police in Surrey, B.C., are investigating after gunshots rang out in a city park early Wednesday morning. Officers were called to reports of shots fired in Robertson Drive Park, in the city’s Whalley neighbourhood, at 12:10 a.m., according to a news release from the Surrey Police Service. Witnesses said a large group of people dispersed as the shots were heard in the green space near 127 Street and 92 Avenue. Responding officers found evidence that gunshots had been fired, the release said, though no suspects have been identified. “There have been no reported injures or property damage,” police said. “The investigation is in its early stages, and the motive has not yet been determined.” Police were expected to remain in the area Wednesday to search for physical and digital evidence. The SPS is asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity near the park, or who has video evidence related to the incident, to contact investigators at 604-599-0502.
