The 2026 PNE Fair enters its second weekend, with Summer Night Concerts by Mt. Joy, Cyntha Erivo and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and Punjabi Virsa on the schedule. Port Day The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is holding its annual “Port Day” celebration at Canada Place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event features live music and family friendly activities across several different “zones,” including a “maritime career zone” for those considering a life at sea. Car Free Day Burnaby Car Free Days of Summer heads to Burnaby this Sunday for a street festival on Edmonds Street between Kingsway and Mary Avenue. The four-block closure will feature multiple stages of live performances, food trucks, community booths and more. The festival runs from noon to 5 p.m. and admission is free. Kimchi and K-Food Festival Billed by organizers as “Western Canada’s largest Korean food and cultural festival,” the Kimchi and K-Food Festival will take over Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park this weekend. Kimchi-making classes, K-pop dance and breaking competitions and Korean folks games will all be on offer. Last year’s festival featured 114 food and retail vendors and drew 80,000 people to the park. The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Public Disco Block Party: Downtown Public Disco’s 10th summer block party season concludes Saturday at šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square, the north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery. The free, all-ages dance party will take place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring a lineup of local DJs, plus vinyl record and vintage markets. Visit the Public Disco website for more information. Dutch Street Market The Granville Street Pedestrian Zone is sure to be full of orange this weekend as Dutch BC brings its 4th annual Dutch Street Market downtown. The free event celebrates the culture, food and drink of the Netherlands, as well as Indonesia and the Dutch Caribbean. Live music, film screenings, Netherlands House football activations and more will be on offer. The market runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Friends of VPL Annual Book Sale Vancouver’s largest used book sale takes place this weekend at the Vancouver Public Library’s central branch downtown. Organized by the Friends of the Vancouver Public Library, the sale features more than 50,000 items, including books of all types, CDs, DVDs and more. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sept. 1. For the sports fans The Vancouver Canadians are wrapping up a series against Spokane this weekend at Nat Bailey Stadium. Games are scheduled for Thursday and Saturday nights and Friday and Sunday afternoons at Nat Bailey Stadium, weather permitting. Also in action at home this weekend is Vancouver Rise FC, which will host Calgary at 3 p.m. Saturday at Swanguard Stadium. The B.C. Lions and Vancouver Whitecaps are out of town this weekend.
