The Chatham-Kent Police Service has made an arrest after the Veterans Memorial Crosswalk in Erieau was damaged over the summer. On July 27 just before 10 a.m., police received a report that a vehicle caused significant damage to the crosswalk and road. Police determined it took place on July 25 around 2 a.m., when a pickup truck allegedly did a burnout over the area. A suspect vehicle was identified and released to the public, leading to the arrest of a driver. On the evening of Oct. 3, the accused, a 19-year-old Tilbury man, was arrested and charged with mischief over $5,000.
