A soggy start to the week is expected before hotter and more humid conditions settle into the region over the next several days. Environment Canada is calling for cloudy skies Monday, with showers beginning early in the morning before tapering to a 40 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon. There is also a risk of thunderstorms through the morning and early afternoon hours, with local rainfall amounts of 10 to 15 millimetres possible. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 25 C, but humidity will make it feel more like 33. Conditions are expected to improve Monday night, with partly cloudy skies and a lingering 40 per cent chance of showers early in the evening before clearing. Winds will become light late in the evening as temperatures fall to 19 C overnight. Warmer weather returns Tuesday, bringing a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 29 C. Humid conditions will push the humidex to 37. The warming trend continues Wednesday, when a mix of sun and cloud is forecast along with a daytime high of 31 C. Overnight temperatures will remain mild, with cloudy periods and a low of 22 C. Thursday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies and a 30 per cent chance of showers. Despite the increased cloud cover, temperatures are expected to remain warm, reaching a high of 30 C.
