Set up is underway for the 2026 Tecumseh Corn and Music Festival. Volunteers with the Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach were at McAuliffe Park on Monday, August 24 preparing for this year’s event. Festival co-chair Rob Drake says the event kicks off Friday afternoon and runs until Sunday. “We got the carnival back this year; we got lots of food,” says Drake. “We got an Elton John tribute on Friday night at 8 o’clock, and we got a full beer tent all day Saturday during the day and into the evening. Rides for the kids and 65-plus craft vendors will be here as well. So it’s going to be an exciting fun weekend.” He says there are activities and events for all ages. “We’ve got things for little kids right up, all the way up to the seniors,” says Drake. “We’ve got seniors’ day on Friday; come out. We’ve got a bunch of events going in our big tent, and we’ve got the beer tent, which is always back as normally.” Drake says there is no entry fee for the festival. “You can come and enjoy the grounds and all we have to offer, the food,” says Drake. “If you’re going into the beer tent in the evening, there is a small charge, and you can get those tickets on Eventbrite.” Drake says between 10,000 and 20,000 cobs of corn will be served this weekend. The main festival grounds open at noon on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the grounds open at 11 a.m.
